Chaos Communication Congress is unfortunately over again. A lot of cool talks were given and a lot of stuff to try this year is left. So this is a small list of stuff I want to look into this year. Some was on my lists from the years before, some is totally new.
FPGA
For a couple of years I am planning on investigating FPGA’s but I never could decide on a platform to use. With the icoBOARD there will be a shiny board for use with the Raspberry Pi. I contacted the devs, with a price of 90€ it might not be the cheapest solution, but at least it should be available. I tried to source some iceSticks from lattice since they are cheap and come in a nice USB stick like format, ready to go. Unfortunately they are not in stock and shipping to Austria is 3 times what the device actually costs. If anyone is interested in a group order, let me know and I might set something up.

Vectors
Vectors are awesome, and drawing vectors on your oscilloscope is even more awesome. And all it needs is a teensy, and some digital-analog converters and you are good to go.
Pi Zero
Something the people were talking about a lot, and I missed the release. So I guess I need to wait a couple of weeks until they are available again but the form factor and the price are really something that makes that thing interesting for me. Price is nearly as low as an Arduino.
Shopshifting
Karsten Nohl’s talks always make me want to reproduce them, and this year it is not different. So we need to acquire some EC terminals to play around with.
PirateBox
After meeting some of the guys from the project I told myself to invest some more time into this project and help out with the forum a little bit. Aso this may be combined with investigating the Pi Zero mentioned above.
